Pennsylvanians and All MidWesterners

Does this quote fit you?

"You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them... And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

Now - wanna guess just who SAID this? If you guessed Obama when he was speaking to a room of filthy rich supporters in San Francisco, you guessed correctly.

So, all you gun-toting, church-going, xenophobic, bitter yahoos - who are you going to vote for now? This guy, or the one who said THIS:

"I saw in the media it's being reported that my opponent said that the people of Pennsylvania who faced hard times are bitter. Well, that's not my experience. "As I travel around Pennsylvania, I meet people who are resilient, who are optimistic, who are positive, who are rolling up their sleeves. They are working hard everyday for a better future, for themselves and their children. "Pennsylvanians don't need a president who looks down on them, they need a president who stands up for them, who fights for them, who works hard for your futures, your jobs, your families."

BY the way - in case you didn't catch it - ONCE AGAIN, Obama is ripping President Clinton. Let us not forget that the USA experienced TREMENDOUS prosperity during his presidency. This, too, has become Obama's MO - to praise Republican presidents, and tear down a Democrat. I think he must have marked the wrong party affiliation when he registered to vote, since he keeps praising all things Republican, well, except for McCain, that is.

Oh, and McCain's response? It was this:

Asked to respond, McCain adviser Steve Schmidt called it a "remarkable statement and extremely revealing."

"It shows an elitism and condescension towards hardworking Americans that is nothing short of breathtaking," Schmidt said. "It is hard to imagine someone running for president who is more out of touch with average Americans."

Uh, ya THINK? But this is what MANY of us have known for a long time. Obama, like Bush, has had EVERYTHING handed to him. He went to exclusive private schools in Hawaii, and then got an Ivy League education. And in case you bought the, "just a poor kid who made good" thing, his grandmother, the one he threw under a bus when aligning himself with Wright, was a bank president in Hawaii. He CHOSE to go live with his grandparents in Hawaii rather than stay in Indonesia (you know - the major source of his foreign policy experience - he lived there from the age of 6 - 10, never even learning the language, and THAT is his major experience?? Okey dokey). So, he wasn't exactly poor, because his GRANDPARENTS weren't exactly poor. He was able to choose where he went to school, too, something MOST poor kids cannot do. Just sayin'. He also got his job at a law firm which came in no small way from his relationship to REZKO, who was represented by that firm. Then he gets any competitors taken off the ballot when he ran for the state legislature - pretty easy way to win THEN. He had the Kingmaker, Emil Jones, slap his name on a bunch of legislation in ONE year on issues worked HARD on by OTHERS. For his US Senate seat, he ran against - wait for it - ALAN KEYES!!! Yes, that batshit crazy whacko brought in just to run for that seat. And he has done blessed little since he got into the US Senate. He majorly pissed off McCain right after getting into the Senate by being duplicitous with him (McCain's letter to Obama is in this blog's archives), and could not be bothered to chair a subcommittee meeting for the committee overseeing Europe, NATO, and AFGHANISTAN!!!!!! Why? Because he was too busy running for president - that's what HE said. And now these disparaging remarks about a good number of good Americans. Wow. (I guess they know how Floridians and Michiganers feel after Obama blew off THEIR votes!)

No matter how hard Obama is trying to spin this now - remember WORM - What Obama REALLY Meant - he is going to be HARD PRESSED to put this off on McCain OR Clinton, like he usually does. Nope - this time the media seems like it MIGHT just be willing to hold HIS feet to the fire, for a change. It is about damn time. It couldn't happen to someone who deserves it MORE.
