DEPLORABLE

That is what the RBC of the DNC's decision regarding Michigan was. I never thought I'd see the day...Below is a letter of "thanks" to Harold Ickes of the Clinton campaign for his work on behalf of Florida, which ALSO got screwed (1/2 the delegates for the Convention - "who cares what Floridians want, anyway?" seems to be the upshot), and Michigan, which screwed Hillary. I am still in shock about all of this. Here's the letter:

Dear Mr. Ickes:

Thank you for your efforts to have every vote counted in FL and MI. Your work was invaluable.

I have to say, I am DISMAYED that the DEMOCRATIC PARTY has now begun to STEAL delegates a candidate actually WON, in broad daylight no less. I do not recognize this Party any more. The Democratic Party does not steal delegates, the VOICE OF THE VOTERS, from one candidate to then present them to another candidate whose name was not even on the ballot. It makes it QUITE clear that the DNC is gaming this nomination for Barack Obama, for whom I absolutely WILL NEVER VOTE (and I am a 50 yr old, lifetime, straight party ticket voter - until this week). What the RBC did today was unethical, and immoral. I have never been more ashamed of this Party than I am today.

I will continue to support Senator Clinton - I honestly believe she is THE BEST candidate for our country. I hope, and pray, the Superdelegates will act to correct this shameful decision by the RBC. It is, quite frankly, reprehensible.

Thank you for all you tried to do, and for the (limited) success with FL especially.

There are millions out here who support Senator Clinton, and we will KEEP supporting her throughout the Convention. Please let her know we are behind her 100%, and will continue to be.

Thanks again.

Sincerely,
The Rev. Amy

And here is the statement from the Clinton Campaign:

Harold Ickes and Tina Flournoy made the following statement:

Today’s results are a victory for the people of Florida who will have a voice in selecting our Party’s nominee and will see its delegates seated at our party’s convention. The decision by the Rules and Bylaws Committee honors the votes that were cast by the people of Florida and allocates the delegates accordingly.

We strongly object to the Committee’s decision to undercut its own rules in seating Michigan’s delegates without reflecting the votes of the people of Michigan.

The Committee awarded to Senator Obama not only the delegates won by Uncommitted, but four of the delegates won by Senator Clinton. This decision violates the bedrock principles of our democracy and our Party.

We reserve the right to challenge this decision before the Credentials Committee and appeal for a fair allocation of Michigan’s delegates that actually reflect the votes as they were cast. LINK

It's deplorable that people who at one time agreed to follow the rules of not running in Michigan but who went ahead and got her name on the ballot and whose husband put forth the half a delegate solution back in April are now claiming that they want all the votes to count. Yes, she wants all the votes counted, only her votes that is. I suppose that makes me a sexist pig for pointing that out.

These talking points have been discredited for some time, and are COMPLETELY fallacious and without merit. There was NO such requirement. It was a political ploy of Obama's, plain and simple. LOTS of evidence to back that up. I am not getting into this with you - do your homework, read the Pledge, and deal with reality.

You may be sexist; probably are. You are also woefully misinformed.

Don't waste my time.

Amy- the monkey is an ardent Obama supporter who, like all other Obama supporters, don't know the facts. They read only Obama's website and get their news from Huffington Post. The poor dears are misinformed and, like the right wingers who still support Bush , will never admit they've been suckered. After all, wasn't it GWB who claimed to be the "uniter"?

I had a feeling - no, let me rephrase that - given the blatantly FALSE info the Money spewed, I assumed it was an Obamabot. You have had experience with this person before, right?

Oh, the similarities between Obama and Bush are increasing almost daily. The recent debacle with MI and Obama saying it was "fair" is certainly evidence of that!!

Did you see that he is now wooing the Native American vote?? I tell you - this is ANOTHER place where the MSM has failed miserably - Clinton has been endorsed by a NUMBER of Native American tribes. Why? Because like with Puerto Rico, she has been working for them for YEARS!!!!

I am so proud of her I really am. I cannot believe how strong she is. She is my hero!

Hi Amy- Yeah..dr.monkey von monkerstein has been making the rounds to blogs that support Hillary and trolling his Obama bullshit.

Notice how he said, "I suppose that makes me a sexist pig for pointing that out". Since no one on this blog said anything about him being a sexist, he will just say it himself...that way he thinks he can feel like the better man..er, monkey, and say that Hillary supporters call everyone who supports Obama sexists. Typical strawman argument which comes from people who don't have facts or the truth to back up their statements.

Really, don't waste your time with that guy (monkey), he's hasn't quite evolved to human status yet...typical of most Obamabots.

I thought I recognized him...And yeah - total waste of time to try and point out the inaccurracies - surely they MUST know they are touting dicredited facts, but just don't care. No matter how many times reality is introduced, they choose to ignore it.

Speaking of ignoring things - I saw at Taylor Marsh that the remaining senators are going to go for Obama?? How can this POSSIBLY be?!?! I swear, Mary Ellen - I never, ever, EVER thought the DNC would work so hard to fix a nomination. And it clearly is.

Wow.

So - besides watching the Democratic Party outdo the Republican Party in voter suppression, how was your weekend?!?!
