Well Wonders Never Cease!!

No doubt you have all heard this by now, but below is the Press Release issued by Hillary Clinton's and Obama's Campaigns today.

Can I just say, WHY did we even have to FIGHT for this?? I cannot remember any other candidate EVER, even those with only ONE Delegate, have had to fight to have their names on the ballot, much less the POPULAR VOTE WINNER!!! That this was even a question says a whole HELLUVA lot about the DNC, Obama, and Howard Dean, again, none of it good. I have never seen anything like this Primary Season, and I hope I never do again...

Anywho, here's the release:

8/14/2008

Statement from the Obama and Clinton Press Offices

Since June, Senators Obama and Clinton have been working together to ensure a Democratic victory this November. They are both committed to winning back the White House and to to ensuring that the voices of all 35 million people who participated in this historic primary election are respected and heard in Denver. To honor and celebrate these voices and votes, both Senator Obama's and Senator Clinton's names will be placed in nomination.

"I am convinced that honoring Senator Clinton's historic campaign in this way will help us celebrate this defining moment in our history and bring the party together in a strong united fashion," said Senator Barack Obama.

Senator Obama's campaign encouraged Senator Clinton's name to be placed in nomination as a show of unity and in recognition of the historic race she ran and the fact that she was the first woman to compete in all of our nation's primary contests.

"With every voice heard and the Party strongly united, we will elect Senator Obama President of the United States and put our nation on the path to peace and prosperity once again," said Senator Hillary Clinton.

Senator Obama and Senator Clinton are looking forward to a convention unified behind Barack Obama as the Party's nominee and to victory this fall for America.

I see a PUMA badge on your sidebar.

I think the existence of PUMA is absolutely heartbreaking, the saddest thing I've ever seen.

To me, what that says is that people are not considering that if McCain ends up in office, esp. with the recent events in Russia and Georgia, we run the risk of having WWIII on our hands.

And we have already seen what has happened to our Constitution and civil rights in the face of the "war on terror." We Americans are being punished for what happened on 9-11.

And has no one considered that PUMA might be the brainchild of Republican McCain supporters who desire even more disunity in the Democratic party? We don't REALLY know who got that started; anyone can build a website and post anti-Dem sentiment on it.

That may sound like paranoid talk, but given that the Republicans are already purging voter rolls of blacks and Latinos and others who usually vote Dem, do not put it past them to fight dirty just so George W. McSame ends up in office.

PS: I actually supported Dennis Kucinich; I am not particularly behind Obama. And no one sees the Kucinich supporters or the Richardson supporters or the Edwards supporters doing a "PUMA" thing.

It's time to get over it and move on, because there's entirely too much at stake.

This is my blog, and I will not keep comments that are essentially ad hominem attacks. You seem to excel at those, as well as astonishing revisionist history and faulty logic. If you were here for a REAL discussion, like Tracie the Red, that would be one thing. But your comments are nopt without attacks, so off they go. And I will not allow certain words in my Comment section, either. So, off both of yours go.

Btw, I don't support Obama because he is a poseur, an empty suit, a liar, a misogynist, a race-baiter, the most inexperienced, unqualified candidate I have ever seen in my life. He has done nothing but divide this party and ratchety up emotions SO high that people like you are being paid by OBAMA to attack those of us who are not cultists.

And Tracie, that addresses your concern as well. I think Obama is equal to Bush, actually, he is less experienced. But he has already called for a return to the foreign policy of Bush I, which is the foreign policy of DONALD RUMSFELD. He claimed Reagan was a transformative president, the worst prez for the AA community in YEARS. He has denigrated the only two term Dem. president for 40 years. He has benefitted, and engaged in, race-baiting and massive sexism. His secrecy SURPASSES Bush's, as well as his vindictiveness (just ask Charlie Rangel or John Lewis, to name just two). His judgment is seriously flawed, and he brings NOTHING to the office buy AxelRove - he is worse than BUsh, and I will never support this man, who gained the presumptive nomination by having votes taken FROM Clinton and given to HIM. I will not support him, and I will not support a Party that does not care for whom the voters vote. Clinton got more votes than any other candidate EVER, and the DNC has turned its back on her.

So, that's why I am a PUMA. I will not support a Party that looks a whole lot more like the RNC than the DNC.

Thanks for coming by, Red.

I meant to add that PUMA is most definitelY NOT a Republican originated or run organization. The two people most associated with it are definitely Democrats.

Here's the thing - when the Party stops listening to the people, are we just supposed to blindly go along like sheep? Isn't that EXACTLY what we accuse the Republicans of doing, especially with Bush? So for the first time, the nominee with the most popular votes, is NOT the nominee, and the one who IS was GIVEN votes not cast for him. You do not see that as a problem?? The way the DNC has operated this Primary season is unlike any in my memory, and I am a lifelong Dem. I have never, ever seen them fix a nominee like they have this one, reaking their own rules to do so.

THAT is why PUMA exists - it isn't a "sour grapes" kind of thing because of Hillary, it is because the DNC, under Dean and Brazile, has turned into the RNC. It is our DUTY to speak out against that kind of injustice. Vote stealing, voter intimidation, and voter fraud, is NOT acceptable, certainly not to me. So, yes, I have the PUMA sidebar, and I am a member of "I Own My Vote" because I DO, the DNC does not, especially when it acts like the RNC!!

Just because the RNC fights dirty does not mean the DNC should, too,a nd that is EXACTLY what they have done this year - the same people who decried what happened in FL in 2000 are the same ones who NOW are disenfranchising voters. That is unacceptable to me. I hope you can understand that position.

Well said, Amy! I didn't see the comment that you banned, but I have no doubt in my mind it was another one of those mindless Obama sheep that can't accept anything less than total adoration for their chosen Messiah. I'm glad you wiped him out completely, people like that don't deserve to be heard.

You pretty much said everything I would have said to tracie the red, we are not mindless sheep who follow the party and this is exactly what we called the right wingers who voted for Bush the second time around, even though they knew how much damage to our country and military he had done.

Thanks for this blog, and thank you for pointing out that PUMA is not a Republican organization.

Hey, ME!

Thanks for the support. The banned Obushit used offensive language that is not permitted here, and could not make a point without a nasty comment. As I said, I don't have to agree with everyone who comments here, but the cannot make personal attacks and use offensive language here
(and I'm not talking abt regular cuss words - those can add some oomph to a comment!!).

Yeah, it does seem like all of a sudden, people are trying to claim that PUMAs are Republicans. Um, no - actually, I think we are the REAL Democrats!!

Thanks again for your support!
