A Little Beach Music

I am siting out on my (almost) completed breezeway (just waiting for them to finish screening it in), drinking a cappuccino, and enjoying a nice ocean breeze this morning. The birds are singing, the squirrels are doing their thing, and the sky is Carolina Blue. It doesn't get any better than this, at least for me.

Today's break is inspired by my partner, and the aroma of ocean in the air. It's time for a little beach music!

First up, a classic. This is the perfect song to do the SC state dance, the Shag, to, I might add:

Nothing like the Drifters first thing in the morning, right?

Oh, if you don't know what the Shag is, here's a little demonstration for you:

Now, I admit, while I did more than my share of Shag, it was not like these pros do! Still, it's fun, fun, fun...

How could I leave out the Chairman? No, Not Frank Sinatra. Nope, this would be General Johnson and the Chairman of the Board singing a pretty nice tune, "Carolina Girls":

This last one sums it all up, as I look out over the tidal creeks and marsh, enjoying this fine breeze and Carolina morning:

I hope you all have a lovely Carolina kind of day, filled with light breezes and a little beach music... Copyright © 2011 by Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy

Ahhh, Rev...what a lovely post! All the songs remind me of growing up in Southern California, back when there was lots of wide open space and we spent days at Huntington Beach and nights at Disneyland...feelin' groovy...

LOVE the video, SF! That is too cool! How neat that those two reunited...

And glad the songs were able to take you on a pleasurable trip down Memory Lane. :-D
