"You know, the stock market is sort of like a tracking poll in politics," Obama said during an appearance with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown. "It bobs up and down day to day, and if you spend all your time worrying about that, then you're probably going to get the long-term strategy wrong."
Why don't you tell that to my #%&%$@$ RETIREMENT fund, Obama! OR tell that to the businesses that are going BANKRUPT!!!
And Obama, if the stock market is like a political poll, it is telling you that YOU ARE NOT DOING SO WELL!
Can you BELIEVE this guy? Ever since he has gotten into the White House, I cannot help but be incredibly angry with all of those dimwitted - oops - sorry, that's not very pastoral - grossly uninformed/blind/deaf people who SUPPORTED THIS MAN!! And who supported the DNC acting in such an unethical, immoral way to give him the nomination despite the votes (or the fraud). WTH already?!?! And this is JUST the beginning. But, don't worry, be happy - go spend some money, that will help you feel better about LOSING YOUR JOB or your HOME! Holy shit.
Oh, but I have more for you. Since I'm talking about money already, how about this little goody? Obama's new "Urban Czar" (huh?), Adolfo Carrion, has been exposed for pocketing a whole bunch of campaign cash. In return, all kinds of buildings from contributors got the green light in the Bronx! What a surprise! Yet another one of Obama's appointments with money issues.
What's next? This is a good one. Remember how we (meaning, progressives, liberals, Democrats, fair-minded people) got really upset when the Republican majority used all kinds of tricks to get their way? It made us mad. But now, Obama is thinking of using a little procedural trick that would only require 50 votes to get his energy and health care bills passed. Here's some more information on this procedure:
Because they can not be filibustered, budget reconciliations only require 50 votes to pass the Senate. Democrats hold strong majorities in Congress, but still come up short of the 60 votes necessary in the Senate to end debate, which makes it easier for Republicans to block legislation. House rules in comparison make it harder for the minority party to stop bills.
Still, using budget reconciliation to pass policy proposals is controversial, even among some Democrats who believe doing so strains Senate rules and tradition.
Doesn't that just warm the cockles of your heart? The Democrats are now acting EXACTLY like the Party they have been criticizing for years. Apparently, they took good notes...
And now, to conclude, some "entertainment" news for you. No, not Angelina, or Jennifer. Nope - not George Clooney. Rather, I have for you Janeane Garafalo on Keith Olbermann, as discussed on "Red Eye." There's some mighty entertaining information contained in the video below (and some not-so-funny, too, but hey - you can decide for yourself):
Oh, boy. That was some discussion, wasn't it?
Well, I don't know about you, but I think that's all the news I can stomach about Obama for now. Just to recap, take your hard-earned money, invest it in the stock market, stop watching the stock market (which is JUST like a poll, after all), spend money, and party hard!!!! And to think this is what Democrats all over the country have been waiting for - thousands and thousands of earmarks, trillion dollar budget spending, and regular partying. Well done! Ahem. So later on, when, no, IF, decent Democrats are allowed (that's snark) to get the nomination, they are going to get SCREWED as a result of this behavior (I might add, Russ Feingold is definitely one of the decent ones - even now, he is trying to get Obama to NOT sign the $410 BILLION Omnibus bill. Good luck with that, Senator Feingold!). Yeppers - it's going to make it mighty difficult to get someone else in after Party-hard Go Spend Money You Don't Have And Stop Paying Attention to Losing Your Retirement Fund Obama gets done. Sigh...
After this news report, I must go play with puppies lest my head explode...

O.M.G. Rev, is this man REALLY the President? Or am I still in the middle of a nightmare and I'll wake up soon?
Yeah, I'd go out and spend money, but I DON'T HAVE ANY. Retirement fund? Non-existent. Nada. Nil. Niente. All I'll have is Social Security, and by the time the Idiot gets done I won't even have that.
And Janeane Gabarfolo? If we follow her logic (and I use that term loosely), all LGBTs who voted for the Idiot are also suffering from Stockholm's Syndrome, as are all women who voted for him.
Last week, a woman came into the store, was talking to my colleague, and somehow started talking about the Idiot. She put her hand to her heart, looked to the heavens, and said, "he is everything to us". I asked her who "us" was, and she looked at me with a funny look on her face and said, "progressive Democrats". I just got up and walked away.
Give those gorgeous puppies a hug from this lone Indie in SF!
I know, SF - it is really incredible, isn't it? Can you believe the crap that comes out of his mouth? Seriously - we all made fun of Bush when HE said we should go out and spend money. EVERYONE made fun of him. But Obama saying it? Of course - it's the perfect solution!!! Or saying you can't be distracted by the "fits and starts of the stock market"?? Well, when people have lost all of their retirement, they damn sure DO are abt it! And not in a "political poll" kind of way.
I look at people like that women you described as being EXACTLY like Bush supporters. You know, that last 20% who thought he could do no wrong no matter what he did. These people are cut from the same cloth. "He is everything to us"??? She sounds like a cultist to me - and you know I have thought that before abt Obama. The way he has conducted himself, and the way his minions act,are just like cult members. Scary as hell.
So, yeah - all of this stuff that he thinks we shouldn't be worrying our pretty little heads over has already meant massive changes for millions of people, but we shouldn't worry abt any of that stuff...
Now go - spend some money! I'm sure you can find some somewhere! Maybe get some of that stimulus money they're handing out like candy!! Ahem...
Oh, Indie - those puppies are SOOOOO cute! One of the little girls (there are 3 girls and 4 boys) "sings" while she is nursing, and wags her tail. It cracks me up...Nice to have this distraction in the midst of the madness...
