For Our Jewish Friends

I have been thinking of my Jewish friends during this time of Passover. I hope that this has been, and continues to be, a good time for you and your families (blood and chosen).

I found this cute song that explains what the symbols are in the Passover Seder. I hope you enjoy it:

I love that video!!! I wish I had it when I was teaching my religious ed class about Passover. We used to have a Seder meal every year with all of the 6th grade classes combined and even invited the parents and siblings. It was so much fun..and SO much work! The boys all wore their yarmulke's and the girls had lace covering for their heads. Very kosher. :-)

Hey, ME! Glad you like it. I thought it did a fine job of explaining all of the symbols and meanings!

Who knows - maybe you'll have a chance to use it yet! :-)

Reverend Amy--Wait, are you telling me that I may teach again or I'll be dumping my husband for a Jewish guy. :-)

ROTFLMAO - well, um, I suppose either one is POSSIBLE, remotely, perhaps, but possible. Let's just go with the teaching thing for now! :-)

This was SO cute! Thank you. Now, if we could have shown that video when I was a kid, I wouldn't have had to sit through years of 6-hour long seder dinners.

ME...NOOOOOOO!!!!....do NOT dump your husband for a Jewish guy! (Well, not unless he's a doctor and you need free medical care.) I adore my 3 brothers, but oy vey, they can such divas.

Hey, SF!

Glad you liked it - I was a little nervous abt putting it up - I didn't want to offend anyone, you know? But yes - you could have BREEZED through those Seders had you had this video (we had Seders at my church when I was a teenager, too. Then I go to go to several when I lived in Boston - those were very cool - some neat women coordinated them. Actually, it was all women, come to think of it!).

LOL abt ME and your brothers! Hey, listen, ME might just want to marry a doctor now - how else is she going to be able to see one under Obamacare??? :-D

Hey, if there's a nice single Jewish doctor out there, I get first dibs on him! I promise though, I'll make sure he provides top notch medical care to all my friends at NO cost. One condition though - you'll have to travel to Montserrat cause that's where we'll be...

ROTFLMAO - no problem. If I hear of one (and there are probably a few here in my neck of the woods - large Jewish pop. AND a medical school), I'll let you know!

And YIPPEE - I'll get free medical care in my old age!!

Btw, another great thing abt Montserrat is that, since it is a British territory, people like me actually have rights there. That was a requirement for anywhere we lived - so that we would be treated as full human beings. Yay for Montserrat!

Yippee for free medical care in your old age. Hmmm...didn't know there was a medical school near you. Of course, I'm old enough to be the students' grandma by now, but maybe one of the teachers, eh?

Double yippee that in Montserrat you'll actually be considered a real live whole human being.

And triple shame that you have to move to another country to be granted that simple human right. Disgraceful. I'll never understand it, not if I live to be 100.

Montserrat, here we come! Make sure the island is steady so it won't tip over!

LOL - oh, you never know. I am sure you can find someone good down here, SF. Charleston really does have a very large Jewish population. It has the oldest synagogue in the country here (Savannah tries to claim they do, but they're wrong! LOL...).

I have to say, though, it might be weird for you to hear (and they really do say this), "Hey, it's time for Temple, y'all!" :-D

I know - how awesome would that be to live somewhere that sees us as real people??

And yes, it it is difficult indeed that we would have to live elsewhere in order to have the same rights. And you'd think it would be easier to take after all these years (I've been out for almost 34 yrs), but I think it gets worse, honestly...

So yes - Montserrat, here we come!
