Alright, Alright, I Admit It

I watched (most of) the Royal Wedding, along with two billion other people. Oh, what an event it was. No one does pomp and circumstance like the British, and they did not disappoint with this event. It was simply lovely from beginning to end. The Duchess of Cambridge shone, especially when she smiled (which was often). She was stunning in her beautiful wedding gown, and her demeanor was so warm, gracious, and excited. The Duke of Cambridge looked so happy, and was very solicitous of his new bride, presenting her beautifully. The future King and Queen of Great Britain were captivating. (For a wide range of articles and photographs of the big day, The Telegraph has great coverage.)

There is some breaking news about the newlyweds - they have decided to postpone their honeymoon. They are taking the weekend to spend together, then plan to return to work after the bank holiday. As you likely know by now, Prince William is a Search and Rescue pilot in the RAF. That alone is pretty cool, if you ask me.

It was a fairytale wedding, exquisite, touching, perfect.

If you missed it, or simply want more, below are some of the highlights of this magical day. Enjoy:

I didn't see all of the wedding, just some of the stuff they showed on the news the next day. That said...I loved all those big hats! I also got a kick out of Harry who seemed to be having a great time and always laughing or joking with someone.

Oh..and the little dark haired boy in the wedding party reminds me so much of my grandson when he was that age.

You're right, they really do it up big in the Palace. I still grumble when I see Prince Charles...don't like him or his wife, Camilla.

Hey, ME - that is so cool that the little boy reminds you of your grandson at that age...I noticed how sweet William and Kate were with those kids, too, even having a photo taken with them as one of their "portrait" photos.

Those hats - how abt the ones Fergie's kids were wearing? Holy moley, how did they get in and out of the cars?!

Yeah, I cannot help but wonder how the boys felt abt Camilla being there instead of their mother, how her presence in their father's life led to the divorce, and all that happened after that...

Harry - he does seem like he is a good-time kind of guy. Wouldn't it be a hoot if he and Pippa ended up together?!

I saw a segment abt the boys when they were boys, highlighting how William always knew he would be king one day, so he was quite serious abt his studies, and his life. Harry, OTOH, could be a child, and enjoy being a child. Still, William seems to have turned out to be a kind, gentle young man, with a sense of humor...
