No word yet on if she took it or not...Oh, wow - I will be so mixed abt this. I will love seeing her more, and knowing that she will work her HEART out for this country, but SHE should be the one deciding who was going to be in HER Administration...Oh, darn that ONC stealing the nomination...Ahem.

Anywho - I know she is quite competent to do what she feels is right for her and the country, but ugh...Blech. Yuck. It just makes me grind my teeth that she would be "serving at his pleasure..."Rabble Rouser Reverend Amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14965609706204555067noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-208401365281331903.post-78586696961240569032008-11-17T19:13:00.000-05:002008-11-17T19:13:00.000-05:00I agree 1000%, rabble rouser. No way she should do this. As a Senator, she can keep a bit of independence. Instead of having "the power" she'll be under the thumb of BO. Not a happy place to be!susanclarehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17693936597464823369noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-208401365281331903.post-21230219360155430942008-11-17T09:57:00.000-05:002008-11-17T09:57:00.000-05:00See, Sophie, that is exactly of what I am afraid. ...See, Sophie, that is exactly of what I am afraid. I have NO DOUBT that she could DO the job, and do it brilliantly, if she is ALLOWED to do it. Obama seems so think-skinned, and so self-centered, that I just cannot imagine he would allow her to do what needs doing, especially if it gets her positive press. He worked mighty damn hard to tear her down, after all...Rabble Rouser Reverend Amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14965609706204555067noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-208401365281331903.post-31543460651446950002008-11-16T23:16:00.000-05:002008-11-16T23:16:00.000-05:00Despite the fun we could have with the Obots on th...Despite the fun we could have with the Obots on this one, I think she should run from him. Can you imagine giving up your career to help a guy who seems hell bent on destroying your career? Every bad decision would get blamed on her, until he was "forced" to throw her under the bus for the sake of the country. I am not interested in hearing the "that's not the Hillary I knew" speech.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05644991921013000813noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-208401365281331903.post-3364879334874982972008-11-16T22:12:00.000-05:002008-11-16T22:12:00.000-05:00Yes, but it's FUN tea leaf reading! :-) And yes,...Yes, but it's FUN tea leaf reading! :-) And yes, the head exploding might just be worth it...It just really makes me wonder what is up Obama's sleeve, you know?

How can people - you know, the ones who aren't completely addicted to the kool aide - reconcile this possible move with all that Obama said abt her?? Yep - talk abt your cognitive dissonance indeed!!Rabble Rouser Reverend Amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14965609706204555067noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-208401365281331903.post-87506330128720297362008-11-16T21:20:00.000-05:002008-11-16T21:20:00.000-05:00Yeah, I saw the post at NQ. Aside from Kerry and Richardson's reaction, would be also to see the Obots' heads explode from the cognitive dissonance.

I have one friend in particular whose face I'd like to rub in it, if HRC is named SoS.

Yes, I'm leery of the way Obama operates. And really, this whole conversation we are all having is just tea leaf reading (no pun intended).

:)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-208401365281331903.post-87497728559717037402008-11-16T20:51:00.000-05:002008-11-16T20:51:00.000-05:00Hey, bluelyon -Well, you are certainly making a co...Hey, bluelyon -

Well, you are certainly making a compelling argument. And you are right, she is not abt moving herself forward, but doing what is best for the country. I guess that will be her ultimate decision IF Obama offers her the job (because really - who the hell knows what he is REALLY going to do - btw, American Girl in Italy has a GREAT post abt Clinton and her foreign policy experience - does she have it or not - at No Quarter).

And really - it is more abt HIM and his way of dealing that worries me more than her taking the position. I haven't the least doubt that she would be fantastic IF she was allowed to really do the job. So I have those kinds of doubts. I just don't see how Obama would let her really do her job without micromanaging her or undermining her. If it was McCain, for instance, I would not have those concerns. But I have seen how Obama operates, and it ain't pretty...

Thanks for the good comments!!Rabble Rouser Reverend Amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14965609706204555067noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-208401365281331903.post-28473125553018266082008-11-16T19:24:00.000-05:002008-11-16T19:24:00.000-05:00That's just it. Her political ambitions have always been about moving her agenda forward, not moving herself forward. When I think of what force she could be on the international scene, rather than having to bide her time in the Senate and waiting around for crumbs from the Big Boys' table, I get chills.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-208401365281331903.post-23821739136320899432008-11-16T16:27:00.000-05:002008-11-16T16:27:00.000-05:00IAG - see, that's my fear with Obama. She was, after all, voted one of the top 100 most influential attorneys in the US twice, so there's that. Of course, if he does offer it and she declines, we'll never know.

I think her time in the Senate, if she stays there will be ruled by the archaic seniority rules and she'll never get a major chairmanship. After all, she didn't start in the Senate when she was in her 30's (ala Biden).

Any hoo, I'd like to see her get it for one reason: I'd like to see Kerry and Richardson's heads explode and their man-parts fall off when they get bested by "the girl."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
