Regardless, I don't take well to men patronizing me. And you most definitely are doing that.

What I've learned in all my years is just because someone tosses you a hot rock doesn't mean you have to catch it.

That is to say, you are making a number of assumptions abt me, what I think abt certain issues, all while trying to paint me as some lightweight Republican lemming, and insulting me, to boot.

What I have also learned is that no matter how much I try to correct some people's assumptions abt me, they'd rather believe what they think than what I say. So, it's not worth my time and effort to try and correct them.

And so I am letting this hot rock drop.

Thanks for coming by.Rabble Rouser Reverend Amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14965609706204555067noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-208401365281331903.post-3466883402768913022009-08-08T04:05:04.694-04:002009-08-08T04:05:04.694-04:00Couple of points.
I don't "bristle"...Couple of points.

I don't "bristle" at ad hominem attacks, I just like to defuse them without having to work at it. (After people throw enough softballs at you, it's easier to just get a catcher's mitt.)

But kiddo, if you're going to believe Cornyn, you aren't likely to become a Democrat again - the koolaid stains don't go away that easy.

Let's apply a little logic to the situation, shall we?

If the White House wanted to start a covert intelligence gathering operation, why would they plant themselves in the middle of it, and announce it publically? Where does that even begin to make sense to you?

Wouldn't it be easier to simply use a few of those NSA assets and plant a worm on Google, to follow people who fit certain parameters in their web searches? Or, more to the point, bug the obvious locations, like, say, this blog right here. With a little internet surveillance, that would lead to your friends, and the websites where you hang out. And, of course, they could backtrace to your home computer.

I'm not saying that there's a bigger conspiracy than the one you seem to believe in, I'm just hoping that you've heard of Occam's Razor.

Because what I've just descrbed would be a lot more effective than getting 6000 copies of the same email from FreedomWorks (Dick Armey's group), or "Americans for Prosperity" (which has been industry-funded from the beginning, and is currently chaired by billionaire David Koch).

Oh, and let's not forget "Conservatives for Patients Rights," the ironically-named group organized by Richard Scott to fight against universal health care. Funny thing about that. The group claiming that government-run healthcare will ruin America is being run by the former frontman for HCA, which was fined $1.7 billion dollars for defrauding Medicare - which makes them an enduring symbol of everything that's wrong with American healthcare.

I mean, feel free to continue to let yourself be manipulated by lobbyists for the healthcare industry, but at least be honest about whose bidding you're doing, OK?

(Oh, and incidentally, those swastikas that Pelosi mentioned? I wonder where she might have gotten an idea like that?)Nameless Cynichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17963921060024737712noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-208401365281331903.post-26952071590240100502009-08-07T09:55:31.963-04:002009-08-07T09:55:31.963-04:00Spying is wrong regardless - which is why is was s...Spying is wrong regardless - which is why is was so upsetting when Obama reneged on his promise to filibuster FISA and voted for it instead. And when he extended the warrantless wire-tapping program.

But hey - why bother looking at major issues (oh, and FACTS) like that when it is so much more FUN to attack someone else, right? Naive I am not, and for someone who bristles at ad hominems (according to your profile, anyway), you seem to have no problems throwing them out there.

I have never been a Republican. You might have wanted to actually read the very top of my blog before making that assumption - lifelong, left leaning Democrat until the DNC stopped being democratic in 2008. But thanks for playing.Rabble Rouser Reverend Amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14965609706204555067noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-208401365281331903.post-75349183164895517122009-08-06T21:40:27.267-04:002009-08-06T21:40:27.267-04:00Let me see if I got this straight. But when Obama fights back against liars and smear merchants, and Cornyn makes up crap about "he's gathering ISP's!", that's cause for alarm?

So real spying is OK, as long as it's done by a Republican. But imaginary spying is something to worry about, if it's imagined that it will be done by a Democrat?

Do you also believe that chick on Glenn Beck who thinks that the Cash for Clunkers website gives the government total access to your computer?

How many "forward this to twelve friends" spams do you fall for?Nameless Cynichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17963921060024737712noreply@blogger.com
